How Can You Help Fight Hunger?

The Foodbank and its many agencies need volunteers. Volunteers help sort and box food, and they help with general office work. Volunteers also help us put on events, like the annual "Empty Bowls" dinner in the spring, the Summer Cereal Drive, and "Golf for Food" in the fall.  You can volunteer and help fight hunger. Call the Foodbank for further information.

Harvesters Young Professionals

Harvesters is the Arkansas Foodbank's young professionals volunteers. They hold two events each year, the Empty Bowls dinner and art auction in the spring (this year it's April 7), and the Golf for Food charity scramble tournament in the fall. Harvesters meet monthly. Its members come from a variety of professional backgrounds but all are committed to the cause of ending hunger in Arkansas.

Help With Food Drives

Community food drives are an integral part of the Arkansas Foodbank's efforts at creating a community where no one has to go hungry. Many groups, including churches, schools, community and civic organizations, businesses and even individuals, successfully collect quantities of canned goods and non-perishable items for those in need.

Check-Out Hunger

When you go to your local Kroger store, look for the Check Out Hunger poster! Then take one of the Arkansas Foodbank bar code placards, with amounts from 50 cents to
$5, and give one to the cashier as they check you out. The total is added to your bill.  The entire amount of your contribution comes directly to the Foodbank to help your neighbors in central and southern Arkansas. Remember, each $1 contribution provides up to 3 meals to those in need!
