Q1: How do I volunteer at the Foodbank?

To volunteer at AFN, you need to contact the volunteer coordinator at 501-565-8121. You can also fill out the Volunteer Sign Up form. We will contact you about opportunities after we receive your form. 

Q2: What is the minimum volunteer age?

Due to heavy machinery working in the warehouse Monday through Friday, the minimum age is 12. Evening and weekend shifts when there is little or no machinery in the warehouse, we will allow children as young as 12 years old with adult supervision.  

Q3: When can I volunteer?

Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - noon or 1-4 p.m.

Q4: Do I need to schedule in advance or can I just show up?

All volunteer shifts must be scheduled at least three days in advance. For weekday volunteer shifts of 4 people or less, we need at least three days' notice to get you on our calendar. Weekday shifts of five or more people need to give us at least one week notice. We do limit our weekend opportunities to 30 individuals, which sometimes fill up weeks to months in advance. No flipflops or sandals!

Q5: What should I wear?

Warehouse volunteers must have on secure footwear that covers the toes and top of the foot. Dress comfortably, but no holey or inappropriate clothing. Keep in mind that you will probably be on your feet most of the time you are working. Also you might consider wearing clothes you don't mind getting dirty. The temperature in the warehouse will be similar to what it will be outside.
