Supplying Food to Many Partner Agencies

The Arkansas Foodbank works with about 300 local agencies that provide food directly to hungry Arkansans in a 33-county area of central and southern Arkansas. The Foodbank collects and distributes millions of pounds of food every year to food pantries, shelters, soup kitchens and additionally reaches children through our Backpack and Kids Cafe programs. Programs target kids, seniors and families struggling with hunger in a difficult economy.

Kids Cafe Program

In 2000, the Arkansas Foodbank, in conjunction with Feeding America, partnered with the Boys and Girls Clubs of America to establish Kids Cafes.

Kids Cafe is the nation's largest after-school meal service and nutritional education program exclusively for children in need. Currently, the Foodbank serves more than 1,700 children per month at 21 Boys and Girls Clubs in central and southern Arkansas each month. That amounts to more than 27,000 meals! The program reaches some of the state’s most underprivileged kids and provides powerful tools for success in life.
