What is SNAP?
SNAP stands for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (formally known as Food Stamps) and it offers nutrition assistance benefits to eligible individuals and families. These benefits are distributed onto an EBT card which is used to purchase food items like fruit, vegetables, meat, poultry, beans, bread, grains, and dairy products at grocery stores, convenience stores, farmers markets, and co-op food programs. Additionally, it provides economic benefits to communities.
The Arkansas Foodbank SNAP Outreach team
The SNAP Outreach team works to increase participation in this important program by going to our agencies
to help clients navigate the SNAP application, answer questions, and educate our communities on the benefits
of the program.
