Volunteer at the Foodbank
One of the most meaningful ways to join the fight against hunger is to spend some time as a volunteer at the Arkansas Foodbank. There's no way we can feed the hundreds of thousands of Arkansans without the help of our volunteers.
We offer several volunteer opportunities:
Monday–Friday, 9 AM–12 PM & 1–4 PM - Orientation is included.
Third Tuesday of the month. Shifts are from 6 PM–8:00 PM - Orientation is included.
Each day we welcome corporate employees, church groups, schools, clubs and other organizations who use this as a worthwhile team-building experience. Several businesses use our community room for annual or quarterly meetings then help sort food in the afternoon. Group limit is 25 people per shift.
Dress Code: Please dress appropriately for volunteering in the warehouse. You will be boxing, sorting, and moving items so we highly recommend wearing closed-toe shoes.
Age Restrictions: Volunteers must be at least 10 years old to volunteer in our warehouse on weekdays.
Volunteers must be at least 8 years old to volunteer on Saturday work days and during any after warehouse business hour volunteer opportunities (Family Nights, Stamp Out Hunger etc.)
Volunteers 8-15 years old must be accompanied by an adult (18+ years old).
Groups of volunteers require one adult chaperone for every five youth (ages 8-15 years old).
Groups of volunteers require one adult chaperone for every ten youth (ages 16-18 years old).
Don't let a full-time job keep you from experiencing the satisfaction of serving others. We offer Saturday workdays each month where you or your group can help in the warehouse. Spots fill up fast so be sure to contact today to reserve a spot for your group.

On occasion, we have opportunities for volunteers to travel with us in the field and set up for mobile distributions. Each group departs at 8:30am from the Foodbank, distributes food from 11AM - 1PM, and arrives back at the Foodbank at 3:30PM.
Volunteers should arrive at the Foodbank’s parking lot at 4301 W. 65th Street in Little Rock by 8AM. You may drive yourself or ride with Foodbank staff.
Special Events Volunteers
From fundraising events, like our annual Empty Bowls art auction and Harvest Night, to community outreach activities like our KARK Telethon and KATV Telethon, the Foodbank is always in need of friendly folks to serve as ambassadors and hosts. We'd love to have you join us! Special Events volunteers are recruited on an as-needed basis. Please let us know if you'd like to be added to our list of special event volunteers.
The Harvesters young professional group helps the Arkansas Foodbank's two main annual fundraising events, Empty Bowls and Harvest Night, Harvesters meet at after-work gatherings. The Foodbank's 10,000-square-foot community garden is one of the main ways we supply our clients with fresh, nutritious fruits and vegetables. We welcome gardeners, and even gardener-wanna-be's, to help us during the planting and harvesting season. Shifts available Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM Spring to late Fall.
Data entry, filing, proofreading and general office chores are some of the things that go on continually at the Arkansas Foodbank.
